Spiky Finds His Way Home
His Choice Ministries Meets Afrika Rise in Kampala

“When actions speak louder than words, and hearts work together for a higher calling, Africa truly rises.”
As the African Caravan continues its journey across the continent, carrying a message of faith, unity, and creative renewal, we found ourselves in Kampala, Uganda, at a most divine moment — just as the world’s attention turned toward COP30.
It was here that His Choice Ministries had the privilege of meeting the inspiring team of Afrika Rise — Gotlinde, Edrine, and Brother Charles, whose wisdom and faith-filled energy reflected the very spirit of servant leadership we hold dear.
This meeting was not just another stop along the road. It felt like a spiritual connection, one that affirmed why we walk this path as a movement of people — learning, planting, and growing through relationships that bring heaven’s purpose down to the soil of Africa.
Building Capacity from Within
“When people are disconnected from the places where change is meant to happen, loss and damage follow — not only of resources, but of hope and purpose.”
As the African Caravan to the G20 Summit, our mission has always been to strengthen capacity from within Africa. Too often, civil society engagement centers around global spaces like COP meetings, while the deepest transformation must begin right here — among our communities.
For us, building capacity through servant leadership means placing value where it belongs: in the hands and hearts of African people, empowered to lead and innovate for themselves.
Through Project iPlant and our partnerships along the Caravan’s journey, His Choice Ministries is witnessing the growth of a faith-based movement that moves beyond words — rooted in spiritual action, cultivating both the soil and the soul.
Meeting Afrika Rise — Where Creativity Meets Cooperation
“Imagine a world where cooperation drives progress, not profit — where friendship, care, and joy of life guide development.”
Our encounter with Afrika Rise brought fresh inspiration to this journey. Their “Spiky Schools Project” opens creative spaces for children and young people to express themselves through art, performance, and social engagement.
By merging art with education, Afrika Rise shows how creative empowerment can shape sustainable futures. Their work in Uganda — particularly through the nation’s first green vocational school — aligns beautifully with our shared vision of faith, stewardship, and community empowerment.
Together, we believe that education must reach beyond technical skills — it must awaken self-efficacy, social responsibility, and imagination as the true tools for transformation.

🦔 Spiky’s Journey Home
“Some say Spiky jumped into our bags during the African Climate Summit — and we believe it!”
After a long journey from Europe, Spiky has finally found his way home to Africa.
From joining the African Climate Summit (ACS2) in Ethiopia to walking with us during the Draw the Line March in Kenya, Spiky has become a joyful companion of the Caravan.
His playful yet powerful spirit reflects the essence of the Spiky Schools Project — creativity in action, art as advocacy, and learning rooted in community. Now, as Spiky prepares to visit schools across Uganda, he reminds us that education can be joyful, inclusive, and full of heart.
A Journey Forward — Together
Meeting Gotlinde and Edrine gave us a glimpse of Afrika Rise’s ongoing work and a vision that stretches beyond borders — uniting Germany and Uganda through creativity, innovation, and faith.
The wisdom of Brother Charles, the warmth of Kampala, and the sense of shared purpose made this encounter a powerful signpost for what lies ahead.
As we prepare for 2026/2027 and beyond, the African Caravan is excited to journey alongside Afrika Rise — building bridges between art and advocacy, faith and education, people and purpose.
“This is how we rise — through friendship, creativity, and faith that moves us beyond logic and into the heart of transformation.”
